Abigail Flynt / Ceramic Artist
Abigail Flynt was born and raised near the rice fields of rural southwest Arkansas. Her ceramic work focuses on class disparities in the United States, primarily in the rural American South. She is interested in integrating electrical circuits with clay to create interactive objects, using southern colloquialisms as a vehicle to explore concepts of class and rural culture in the United States.
The goal of Flynt's work is to take often undervalued aspects of rural Southern culture and elevate them by giving them a platform on her ceramic work.
Flynt was awarded an artist residency at the North Carolina Pottery Center in 2021, and at STARworks Ceramics in 2022. She currently lives in central North Carolina.
